Common questions

When does my money come out?
Your card is charged at booking through our payment processor. Your tutor's share is released to them on the next payout cycle after the lesson takes place. Pay by card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX), PayPal, or Apple/Google Pay.
How do lesson bundles work?
A one-off purchase of prepaid lessons with one tutor, discounted more the bigger the pack, from 8% off the 5-pack up to 15% off the 10-pack. Redeem one credit each time you book a standard lesson - your credits never expire. No subscription.
What's the difference between a pack and a study guide?
A study guide ($29 to $109) is a downloadable guide to one CEFR level. A language pack ($100) bundles all six levels of one language, plus the interactive in-browser lessons and six PDF study packs, the best value if you want the whole language.
What if I don't get on with my tutor?
Your first lesson with a new tutor is a $8 30-minute trial. After it you choose whether to continue, and you can switch tutors free at any time — there's no cost to move. Trials are paid in full and non-refundable; where we do put something right, it's applied as account credit, never cash.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The price you see is the price you pay. We don't charge a booking fee, a service fee, or a card surcharge.
Can my child (aged 8–17) take lessons?
Yes, through a parent or guardian's account. Children can only be booked with tutors who carry the "Kids welcome" badge (21+, age-checked and granted by our team; we don't run a police check ourselves). We don't record lessons; a parent/guardian books and is the contact. See our Safeguarding page for the full child-safety rules.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Lessons run right in your browser, no Zoom, no Skype, no app. Just click "Join lesson" 5 minutes before your start time.
